China's top legislator, political advisor congratulate Vietnamese counterparts on 76th anniversary of ties

BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Leji, chairman of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee, and Wang Huning, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, on Sunday sent congratulatory messages to Vietnamese counterparts on the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their countries.

In the message to Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Zhao said that over the past year, China-Vietnam relations have maintained sound development momentum. He noted that general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Vietnam, mapping out strategic plans for the development of bilateral relations in the new era and guiding the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future to a new level.

Zhao noted that at the invitation of the Vietnamese side, he led a party and government delegation to visit Vietnam and attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

During the visit, he and Man attended the first session of the joint committee between the legislative bodies, jointly injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations.

Looking ahead to the new year, Zhao said he is ready to work with Man to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two legislative bodies, serve the development of socialist rule of law in both countries, and contribute to accelerating the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

In the message sent to Bui Thi Minh Hoai, president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, Wang said that exchanges and cooperation between the CPPCC National Committee and the VFF Central Committee have become increasingly close.

In the new year, Wang noted, he is ready to work with Bui, under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, to deepen their traditional friendship, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and contribute to deepening and solidifying the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
