HANOI, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnam Railways Corporation operated nearly 1,900 train services during the Lunar New Year holiday to meet surging travel demand, Vietnam Television reported Monday.
On the route connecting the capital city of Hanoi and the southern hub Ho Chi Minh City, 906 trains were arranged, offering 384,000 seats, while other routes accounted for 988 services with 377,700 seats, the report said.
The on-time departure rate reached 97.9 percent, while arrivals on schedule stood at 91.3 percent.
