Vietnamese PM orders sustained expanded fiscal policy for development

HANOI, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday ordered the continued implementation of a targeted and expanded fiscal policy to support development, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

At a meeting of the government's steering committee for macroeconomic management, Chinh stressed the need to put in place reasonable tax and fee policies for development, gearing towards the double-digit growth target.

The government leader called for closer coordination between fiscal and monetary policies as well as tax relief to support local people and businesses, and appropriate interest and exchange rate management to stabilize the Vietnamese dong.

Chinh also instructed authorities to accelerate public investment disbursement from the start of 2026, with priority given to major railway, aviation and seaport infrastructure projects.
