Vietnam urges suspension of tours to Middle East conflict zones

HANOI, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has requested travel agencies to suspend tours to conflict zones and dangerous areas in the Middle East, in line with advisories issued by Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.

The move comes amid instability and clashes in several parts of the region, particularly in Iran, Israel and neighboring Middle Eastern areas, which have significantly disrupted travel activities, the authority said.

The tourism authority urged travel firms to closely monitor developments in conflict-affected destinations and strictly comply with relevant recommendations from competent authorities.

For tour groups currently in affected locations, travel companies are required to maintain close contact with their partners and Vietnamese diplomatic missions in host countries to ensure travelers' safety and promptly implement citizen protection measures when necessary.

Several Middle Eastern destinations favored by Vietnamese tourists include Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Trkiye and Egypt, the state-owned agency reported.
