HANOI, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's average per capita income was estimated at 5.9 million Vietnamese dong per month (about 235 U.S. dollars) in 2025, up 9.3 percent year on year, local media VnEconomy reported Tuesday, citing a survey by the National Statistics Office (NSO).

According to the NSO, 31.3 percent of households reported higher incomes, driven by factors including improved production and business activities and effective social security policies.

Meanwhile, 2.8 percent of households reported lower incomes in 2025, due mainly to job losses or temporary work suspensions, reduced production or business scale, rising input costs and declining product prices, the report said.
