Vietnam's durian export turnover tops 4 bln USD in 2025

HANOI, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's durian export turnover reached about 4 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, accounting for nearly 50 percent of the country's total fruit and vegetable export value, local daily Nhan Dan reported Thursday.

According to the Agency of Foreign Trade under Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, China remains the dominant market, continuing to play a decisive role in driving the growth trend of the durian industry.

Durian exports declined in the first half of the year as China tightened controls on pesticide residue levels and technical standards, the report said.

From the third quarter of 2025, exports rebounded as enterprises stepped up the standardization of growing areas, packing facility codes and traceability systems, while relevant authorities worked closely to address technical bottlenecks.

By the end of November 2025, Vietnam's durian exports to China reached nearly 885,000 tonnes, worth 3.24 billion U.S. dollars, according to the report.
