Vietnam, South Africa elevate ties to strategic partnership

HANOI, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam and South Africa have elevated their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership during a meeting between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the African country, Vietnam News Agency reported Friday.

Under the joint statement, both sides agreed to enhance collaboration in politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, national defense, energy, agricultural processing, innovation and people to people exchanges.

Vietnam and South Africa established diplomatic relations in 1993.
