Vietnam's capital welcomes over 28 mln visitors in 10 months

HANOI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's capital Hanoi welcomed more than 28.22 million visitors in the first 10 months of this year, up nearly 22 percent year on year, local daily VnBusiness reported Friday.

According to Nguyen Tran Quang, deputy director of Hanoi's Department of Tourism, the city received 6.17 million international arrivals during the period, up 23.6 percent, while domestic tourists numbered 22.05 million, up 21.4 percent.

Tourism revenue was estimated at 108.22 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 4.1 billion U.S. dollars), nearly 20 percent higher than the same period last year, the report said.

Hanoi aims to attract more than 33.7 million visitors this year, accounting for around 22.2 percent of the country's total tourist volume, according to the department.
