Bulgaria, Vietnam elevate relations to strategic partnership

SOFIA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria and Vietnam on Thursday adopted a joint declaration on elevating bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.

The announcement was made by Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, after a bilateral meeting.

Radev said the two countries could partner in the areas of innovation, artificial intelligence, and high-tech production.

To Lam said the joint declaration laid the foundation for deepening ties between the peoples of the two countries for peace, stability, and development.

According to the press secretariat of the Bulgarian president, To Lam's visit was part of the Vietnamese leader's European tour. The Vietnamese delegation included ministers and business representatives.
