Myanmar's famed Shwedagon Pagoda attracts over 3.5 mln visitors in first half of 2025

YANGON, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda in Myanmar, attracted over 3.5 million visitors in the first six months of this year, U Boe Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, told Xinhua on Tuesday.

Among them, over 38,000 were foreign visitors, with the most coming from China, Thailand and Vietnam, he said.

The Shwedagon Pagoda is open daily from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time.
