Vietnam's credit growth nears 18 pct in 2025: central bank

HANOI, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's credit growth reached 17.87 percent by Dec. 24 from the end of 2024, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday, citing the State Bank of Vietnam.

Outstanding credit of the economy exceeded 18.4 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 732 billion U.S. dollars) as of Dec. 24, according to the report.

The bank's deputy governor Pham Thanh Ha said as of the end of October, the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector accounted for 6.15 percent of total outstanding credit, while the processing and manufacturing industry made up 12.39 percent and the construction sector accounted for 7.47 percent.
