BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday offered congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Over the past 50 years, Laos has achieved steady economic and social development, with people's lives being improved and its international standing being lifted, Li said in a congratulatory message to Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
He said that the China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Laos has made solid progress with major joint projects being steadily implemented, delivering substantial benefits to both peoples.
As next year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Laos, Li expressed willingness to work with Sonexay to take the strategic consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries as the fundamental guidance and offer guidance for closer interagency and subnational cooperation so as to lift the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future to a new level.
