VIENTIANE, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Lao police in the northern Bokeo province detained two men and seized a total of 15 million amphetamine pills from their possession.
The case was detected on Feb. 20 in Bokeo Province, some 350 km northwest of Lao capital Vientiane. Authorities seized 15 million methamphetamine pills weighing a total of 1,500 kg, Lao national TV reported on Wednesday.
Police investigating the case are trying to determine the source of the drugs and identify relevant individuals.
In 2025, the Lao government will continue to work with relevant departments at all levels to intensify measures to suppress the drug trade and eliminate drug abuse in the country.
