HO CHI MINH CITY, May 25 (Xinhua) -- An agricultural expo is being held in southern Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), displaying major agricultural products from the country's southern area.
The expo hosts 160 booths showcasing products including orchids, bonsai, mushrooms and fertilizers from HCMC and other localities in the Mekong Delta region, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The agricultural fair provides an opportunity for the government, farmers, scientists and businesses to meet and exchange views on creating high-quality plant varieties and breeds, the report said, citing Vice Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee Vo Van Hoan.
The city official also said that HCMC is a large market in the whole country and a center for production and supply of agro-aquaculture products for cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta region.
On the sidelines of the expo that will last till Sunday, a conference will be held to train farmers to bring their products to the country's e-commerce platform Postmart.
