BANGKOK, July 28 (Xinhua) -- People received COVID-19 vaccines in Samut Prakan, Thailand on Monday as the country ramps up vaccination amid rising COVID-19 infections.
As of Monday, more than 16 million doses of vaccines have been administered in Thailand, with over 5 percent of its population fully vaccinated. The country aims to inoculate about 70 percent of its nearly 70-million population by the end of the year.
Thailand reported 14,150 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, down from a new record of 15,376 in the previous day.
It was the 11th consecutive day that new cases surpassed 10,000, taking the total caseload to 526,828, according to the Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).
