BEIJING, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MOSCOW -- Russia has registered 21,127 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its total to 3,719,400, the country's COVID-19 response center said in a statement Sunday.

It said that 491 new deaths were reported, taking the nationwide count to 69,462.

JAKARTA -- The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 11,788 within one day to 989,262, with the death toll adding by 171 to 27,835, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the ministry, 7,751 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 798,810.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported 76 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, taking its total tally to 10,085.

The new cases included 72 local infections, of which 27 had an unknown origin. There were also about 60 cases that tested positive preliminarily, according to a CHP press briefing.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia on Sunday reported two new imported COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the kingdom to 458, said a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement.

The new cases were found on a 57-year-old Cambodian woman returning from the United States two weeks ago and a 26-year-old Cambodian man coming back from neighboring Thailand nine days ago, the statement said.
