HO CHI MINH CITY, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese police have busted a drug trafficking ring stretching from Cambodia to the country's southern Ho Chi Minh City, seizing over 100 kg of drugs, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
A total of 15 suspects of the ring were arrested with 100 kg of synthetic drugs and 32 cakes of heroin seized on Oct. 22, according to the report.
Further investigation is underway.
According to Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine are punishable by death. Making or trading 100 grams of heroin or 300 grams of other illegal drugs also faces the death penalty.
