TOKYO -- Japan's exports in the first half of fiscal 2020 dropped 19.2 percent compared to a year earlier, logging the largest year-on-year plunge in more than 10 years, government statistics revealed Monday.

The steep drop was attributed to the declining overseas demand for cars and other goods battered by the COVID-19 pandemic. (Japan-Exports)

BANGKOK -- The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) released a report on Monday indicating that the resumption of business and activities after COVID-19 lockdowns have improved Thailand's industrial sentiment for the fifth consecutive month in September.

JAKARTA -- Indonesia will at the first phase provide the COVID-19 vaccine to 9.1 million people between November and December 2020, the Health Ministry's Disease Control and Prevention Director General Achmad Yurianto said on Monday.

PHNOM PENH -- Flash floods in Cambodia have so far claimed 25 lives and forced the evacuation of 37,396 people, Seak Vichet, a spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), said on Monday.

Tropical storm-triggered rains caused floods in 19 of the kingdom's 25 cities and provinces since the beginning of the month, he said, adding that 312,224 people have also been affected. (Cambodia-Flash Floods)
