BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

WUHAN -- No new confirmed, asymptomatic or suspected cases of COVID-19 were reported in central China's Hubei Province Sunday, the provincial health commission said Monday.

Currently, Hubei has a total of three asymptomatic cases and 137 close contacts under medical observation.

KABUL -- Afghanistan's Public Health Ministry has confirmed 239 new COVID-19 positive cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of patients infected with the virus to 33,190 in the country, spokesman for the health ministry Akmal Samsoor said Monday.

According to the official, 34 patients have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 898 since the outbreak of the epidemic in February in Afghanistan.

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan confirmed on Monday 314 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 7,691.

The country's Deputy Health Minister Mademin Karataev said that all the new cases are contacts of confirmed patients, and there are no imported cases.

HANOI -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks here with his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith, who is paying a two-day visit to the country, discussing COVID-19 fighting experiences and measures to strengthen bilateral ties, according to the Vietnamese government's official website.

This is the first visit by a foreign high-ranking leader to Vietnam since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking place after the two countries have initially controlled the disease, said a report published on the government website on Monday.
