Another journalist murdered in Mexico

Laos News.Net
Tuesday 2nd March, 2010

The Tabasco state attorney general's office has revealed that a Mexican journalist who was kidnapped in 2007 was later found in a barrel, cut to pieces and burned.

The remains belonged to reporter Rodolfo Rincon Taracena, one of three journalists killed in Mexico this year.

The attorney general's office has given the details of his death at a news conference in Tabasco, saying he was killed because he had written stories about drug-dealing in the city of Villahermosa.

The causes of his death were determined by interviews with the men who kidnapped him; members of the Los Zetas cartel, led by Jose Akal Sosa.

Sosa, who was arrested with the others in 2007, then verified the accounts, leading to a police search on a property where the journalist's charred remains were found, along with those of at least another five unidentified people.
