Pipeline explosion in Nigeria blamed on rebels
Laos News.Net Thursday 27th December, 2007
At least fifty people in Nigeria's capital, Lagos have been killed or burnt after a fuel pipeline was tampered with.
Police believe rebels may have been involved.
The petrol pipeline ignited when locals started pumping fuel into containers.
The fireball was so great, it scorched an area of about four acres.
A lot of the dead were women and children; victims to a deliberate breach in the pipeline.
The remains of many of the victims have now been buried in hurriedly dug mass graves, without being identified.

Pipeline explosion in Nigeria blamed on rebels
it’s a shameful thing to hear that such a thing is happining to the world number 5 oil producer, simply cos the country failed in taking the real messure to help the populace.unless honour is given to whom honour is due, things will remain so. I urge the government to do what everyone knows is the rightful thing for the nation,in terms of good health care, good roads, employment, inssurance, security, schools, eqaulity, freedom of justice, human rights and eradicate poverpity wich is the root of all this problems.if all this re in place like every other developed nations, things will take a better shape. God Bless Nigeria.

Our problems are with our leaders
It´s a pity that after several years of oil trading in the economy, it,s still the same old story of pipeline explosion that still makes the headlines. The nigerian government has failed the people so badly in protecting the lifes of it´s citizens, by making sure that oil pipelines are well protected. it´s unfortunate that our leaders on assumption of their various political positions, throws into the air all their pre-election promises and are more concerned in enriching themselves and looting as much national treasure as possible, and more annoying is stealing even treasures they dont need. They are bunch of disgrace to that God´s blessed country, and until such sefish, unrepentant and ill-mannered so-called leaders are eradicated from the face of the earth, i´m afraid that nigeria would never turn for good.

for the betterment of our country
i am disappointed for what I am hering from our sweet country Nigeria, I will say I throw the blame to the government, because they are the causes of all this, if there were feuls I dont think these citizens will get in volve in such an act, We suppose to be ashame of our country which is bless with oil, but at the end of the day we order oil from abroad it is time the government put things right or step down for millitery government to take over because all of them are just a waste of time
Another issue I want to raise is that why the government dont want to release budget how do they think that the citizen will survive, the alocation of budget is what make an economy to grow but if the government is not releaseing money how can the economy grow, the lack of money in the society creat poverty and poverty lead to crime, so if the government love our conutry please they should release money so that THE TEACHERS GET PAID AND OUR NURSES GET PAID PLEASE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO THEIR BEST TO PAY WORKERS BECAUSE WITH OUT THESE PEOPLE THEIR IS NO SOCIETY
thirdly, all the past govonors should be strip of all their assets because they are the causes of all the problems, all they know is how to still money and keep in foriegn count and not taking the responsiblity of their state in to account

Whosoever the authorised the immediate burial of victims of the recent
Pipeline Explossion in Lagos without first identifyin the victims should be
summarily charged for accessory for murder, tampering with evidence in
the commission of a crime and tampering with the dead without permission
neither form the families of the deceased nor legitimate Federal Government
of Nigeria.
It is a shame that approriate safeguard of the pipelines were neglected for
public safety upon which respective Oil-Company should be answerable to in the Court of Law. Thus, the said Oil Miners have been aware of criminal
Pipeline invassions from past experiences but deliberately ignored to implement
public safety. This is a share neglect in pursuit of profit and we cannot
compromise with human lives to profit. We therefore look upon the present
Government on its pledge to Law on Order to prevail !
